Viewing Documents

There are different ways you can view documents based on the fact that there are different ways you can search for documents. You can view a document after browsing, view a document after performing a search, or view a document that you have previously added to a Document Tray or Research Folder.

Viewing a document after browsing

When browsing for documents, the Browse menu-tree for your product content displays in IntelliConnect’s left pane. When you expand the menu-tree far enough in one particular content area that document’s links display, click the document link for the document you want to view.

After clicking a document link from the menu-tree, the document displays on the right pane, which is located to the right of the Browse menu-tree.

For more information on browsing, see Browsing your Product Content.

Viewing a document after a search

After you perform a search with IntelliConnect, your search results display on the search results window. You can scroll through the list of documents, sort the documents according to date or relevance, and move page-by-page through search results that span multiple pages.

When you find a document you want to view, click the document link to view the document in the Preview Pane (or double-click the document link to view the document maximised in the window).

For more information on viewing documents from your search results, see Viewing documents from your search results.

Viewing a document from the Document Tray

As you perform research on IntelliConnect and find documents of interest, you can place the documents in the Document Tray for later viewing.

When you want to view documents you have added to the Document Tray, click the Document Tray link. Click the document link you want to view, and the document displays on your screen.

For more information on using the Document Tray, see Sending documents to the Document Tray.

Viewing a document from a Research Folder

While you can add documents of interest to the Document Tray on a temporary basis, Research Folders give you the ability to create your own customised folders into which you can add documents of interest on a more permanent basis. With Research Folders, you can view documents during your next research session.

When you want to view documents you have added to a Research Folder, simply click the Research Folders link located on the Quick Bar. Click the folder link that contains the document you want to view, and the contents of the selected folder displays on your screen. Click the document link you want to view, and the document appears on your screen.

Viewing a document from History

You can view recent documents by using the History feature. History stores the documents you’ve viewed from a search for a period of 60 days. You can access documents from History by clicking the History link in the Navigation Bar at the top of your screen.
