Sorting your search results by Document Type

When you perform a search with IntelliConnect, your search results are sorted by the default search results option you have set in Preferences | Search Results. (For more information on setting the default search result sorting method, see Setting your Preferences.)

In addition to sorting your search results by Relevance or by Most Recent, you can easily sort your search results by Document Type.

To sort your search results by Document Type:

Your search results are sorted according to the type of each document included in your search results. In other words, IntelliConnect displays your search results categorised by the specific document type of each individual result (i.e. CCH Commentary, News, Laws, Regulations, Cases, etc.).

Note: You can also sort your search results by Relevance or by Most Recent. For more information on sorting your search results by relevance, see Sorting your search results by Relevance, or for more information on sorting your search results by most recent, see Sorting your search results by Most Recent.
Tip: Viewing pages of a multiple page search result.

If your search results contain more than one page of documents, you can quickly move from one page to another by using the navigation links at the bottom of the search results window. Simply scroll down to the bottom of your search results and click Next to move forward one page or click Previous to move back one page. You can also click the page number links to move directly to a specific page.

Note that these controls are only immediately available if your search results are sorted by relevance or by most recent. If you have your search results sorted by document type, you need to select a document type category and click View all results before you can move from page to page in your search results.
